Thankyou so much for making us feel so welcome.

We have travelled the length of the country and this is by far the best B&B we have stayed in so far.

The setting is gorgeous, Crash was a welcome delight (we have a dog at home!) Feeding the animals was fun!!

Sharing your memories and photos was great too. The bed was so comfy and the breakfast was yummy.

Had a wonderful stay at your B&B. I particularly loved the decoration of the house (thanks to your Dutch connection) and the gardens (that piece of forest at the back is just awesome). Thank you for all the attention and allowing me to watch all the rugby games.

Hi Joy, John and Crash!Well, it was a great pleasure to have a night stay at your warm, cosy home, with you guys being such nice and friendly hosts. We enjoyed our stay with you indeed! And for the rest of our stay in New Zealand was great as well.

We visited the Franz and Fox Glaciers and went to several towns like Te Anau, Milford Sound, Wanaka, Queenstown and many more. They are all great and beautiful, and of course, we enjoyed ourselves very very much like we did at your place.So, thank you once again for having us with you and take care. Hi All,

There's probably heaps to tell, but as time moves on what was important is now irrelevant. I keep waiting for a rainy day, where I am stuck inside but it doesn't seem to be happening. Up until yesterday the weather was still very mild and for the first time since being here we actually have autumn growth so that I can put sheep and cows behind electric fence. We have brought our hay in early, so they all get that as well and I am thrilled that the sheep are eating it this time.

Babies are still being born. Eleven baby ducklings two weeks back (pic shows them at a week old) and how we got three yellow ones I have no idea. All our other babies born over the summer period are doing well. That's it for the feathered mates. Have enough now. Oh no, might have that wrong. Think we have a Muscovy somewhere sitting on a nest. I need a lockup house for them to go into at night so can collect eggs in morning. Another project for another day. The three young Muscovy girls fly and it is amazing to see them up on top of the shed roof or perched on the fence and even more so when they come flying to me at feed time.

I have so many of these projects on the go that I just move from one to the next. Sometimes there are three or four going at once. New walking tracks, thinning and pushing back the bush from around the house. And in return gives me next years fire wood for winter. I have filled up the wood shed so that John has no where now for his motorbike to shelter. Will have to buy him a tarp before he gets home. I love being in the bush. Usually have the company of a Tom-Tit or our south island Bush Robin. And of course the Fantail, who talks all the time. The coming next few months should give me the time to put the property back in order for next season. I always seem to go for it when John has gone back to sea. Yes, he went back. Happily. Has been gone now three weeks. He has his plans as well and those take some financing. But this trip will probably be the last for a while. Hopefully the 1st engineer will get his math's next trip home (he failed) and can take the boat out to sea for the next swing.

Our sub-division is at last completed, only took eight years. No wonder land cost so much to buy. The expense is pretty big after everyone has had their handout, hence why it has taken us so long. It's good all is finalized and we have the titles now. John played on a 20 tonne digger during his two months home last, sorting out some drainage on the bottom end of the sub-division.

Crash is well now and recovered from his last couple of set backs. I never realized he had a bad tooth, poor old fella. Once that was pulled he improved heaps so we felt good about taking him with us for a few days to Blenheim and the same in Nelson.
But after coming back he started to go down again and I was suspicious he had kennel cough. How he got that, no idea as he is never in contact with other dogs. Must have passed by a spot where another dog had been with it. Anyway another week on antibiotics and he is a new dog again. Doing all those things he did years ago. Not long now and he will be 14 years old. Pretty sure he is totally deaf in one ear so I am often using sign language which works well as he responds immediately.

We had a very busy season from December to April. John and I are very pleased at how the business has grown over the period we have been here. I guess we are doing something right.

About the only drama I have to report, is that my wheel barrow got a flat tyer a couple of days ago. Horrors, was completely lost without it. All fixed now and I am mobile once again. A man would probably have a 4x4 and trailer... I have my trusty wheel barrow. Don't care for Johns bike. Has no breaks, steers to the left and the chassis is dodgy. So when he goes to sea the bike is put to bed down the way in his shed until he comes home again.
